Happy Birthday Alex

Today was a special day because Scooter Boy’s youngest son turned 2.  Yes, his littlest man, Alex, had his 2nd birthday…
He had a cool party earlier in the week with his brothers, Scooter Boy & Scooter Girl, his aunty, cousins and his Grandma…and today it was also cool to hang out with him before work.  So once again, Happy Birthday to Alex!! Hope you’ve had a great day. We all love you very much.

We went out for a ride a few rides during the week, the best one was on Sunday when we (myself, Scooter Boy & Scooter Girl) got to go cruise around and enjoy the fantastic weather and amazing scenery that this area has to offer.  They both had a great time, and I’ve noticed that Anthony’s smile is a bit bigger when he has his girl on the seat behind him.  It was a perfect day for a ride (which was obviously the thought of the other riders that we saw out and about)…..there were cruisers, sport bikes, two police officers….everyone on two wheels was out enjoying the sun – the way it should be.

This week’s winner of Derbi’s Celebrity Pillion Passenger of the Week is once again a musician.  She’s a brunette, but not American…..and like Aprilia, Vespa and Moto Guzzi, she is Italian….she has been singing professionally since 1991, and is one of the lead vocalists of gothic metal band Lacuna Coil.  (Being also from Europe just like me, I thought we’d feature someone this week who is a bit different……..who am I kidding,  I just think she looks hot!)

She was born in Milan in 1972, and her interests include watching movies, cooking, shopping, clothing, and spending time with her friends and family (….did I say she was a singer in a gothic metal band? )  Anyway, she is one of the most popular female rock singers on the planet today, and was featured on the cover of Revolver Magazine’s Hottest Chicks In Metal Issue…..she is the one and only, Cristina Scabbia….

Riding & TV watching…

After getting serviced last week I’ve been running great. It’s been great fun heading out for a ride in the afternoons after Anthony finished work, and getting the chance to head up and down the highway, or to cruise along the coast has been heaps of fun.

This weekend Scooter Girl will also be here so we’ll get a chance to head out for some rides, which is always good.

Also this week (when I haven’t been out on the road) I’ve had a chance to watch some TV, Anthony recorded the MotoGP from Brno last weekend, so I’ve had a chance to watch that…unfortunately Casey Stoner didn’t win, but it was good to see 7 times world champion Valentino Rossi win again.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the rest of the championship turns out. It was also cool to see 125cc Championship leader Mike Di Meglio (on a Derbi) up on the podium once more. I have a feeling that it’s going to be a Rider & Manufacturers championship for Derbi this year in the 125cc category. (and being a Derbi myself, why would I think any different)

So that’s been my week, it’s been fun out on the road, (had my first trip on a slightly wet road last night).  Anthony is loving his Derbi experience, and its fun to get out and continue to enjoy life on two wheels.

This week’s winner of Derbi’s Celebrity Pillion Passenger of the week is a Canadian rock singer, musician, fashion designer and actress.

She was born in Belleville, Ontario on September 27, 1984, and at the age of 16 she recorded her first album. She released her second album in 2004 and then her third in 2007. Other work has included the release of “Abbey Dawn”, her self-designed clothing line and also her voice was used in the animated film “Over The Hedge”.

In 2006 she was married to Deryck Whibley, lead singer and guitarist for Sum 41 and in December 2007, she was ranked at #7 in the Forbes “Top 20 Earners Under 25″, with an annual earnings of $12 million. Since 2002 she has sold about 30 million albums worldwide, she is Avril Lavigne.

1000Km Service….DONE!

This week saw me reach 1000km and get my first service done at ScooterHQ.  It was organised for Thursday morning, and so early in the morning we headed up to Southport.   It was a cold morning (at least Anthony thought so) and we arrived there about 8:30, I was dropped off and Anthony returned to Kingscliff.  Thanks to the HQ guys for the loaner….

And so I spent the day getting worked on and was then ready to go again. Brendon took me for a spin in the afternoon and then brought me back to the shop in the morning ready for Anthony to take me back home.  He arrived to get me at 8:30 Friday morning and I noticed that was wearing his new helmet.  That arrived Thursday…..and he is now the owner of a Shoei XR-1000 Rogue (limited edition white) helmet.  I have to admit that it looks very cool, and with his camo Draggin’s, he’s looking almost as cool as me.

And so after a chat to Brendon and D’Arcy,  (because he really didn’t want to go to work…) we were ready to go.  So we headed out along Smith Street, took the Coolangatta exit (getting to go round the awesome corner) and then down the motorway to Kingscliff.  We had a good run home and I’m now looking forward to the next 1000km (and more) of fun.

The next winner of Derbi’s Celebrity Pillion Passenger of the week is from Boston, USA.   She has worked with Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and James Belushi,  She has appeared in films such as Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Bring It On…the TV series Tru Calling and in 1997 she planned to attend university to major in English, but was offered the role as “Faith” in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  Her Favourite colour (like Anthony’s) is Black, she loves Women’s Ice Hocky, was born in 1980, she is Eliza Dushku

Long Way Down….

Today we returned from a long ride….our own Long Way Down….(ok, it wasn’t quite that far, but a 360km round trip was long enough for our first big highway ride.)  Previously highway trips were from home here in Kingscliff to Murwillumbah (about 20 km each way) but yesterday it was Scooter Girl’s birthday, and Anthony & I headed off to surprise her.

I’ll begin with the trip down……We left at midday, headed out of town and started heading south.  My impressions of the ride…. it was pretty easy, no dramas as far as I was concerned.  There are areas of the Pacific Highway that could use some work, but the bypasses (with another on the way at Ballina) provide trouble free cruising at 100/110 kmh for the majority of the trip.

So what did anthony think?  Basically he agrees with me. The road wasn’t too bad, the traffic wasn’t really busy at that time of day and getting around cars, trucks, buses (when required) was mostly effortless.  He also thinks I performed very well, as did his new urban camo Draggin Jeans.

The only “drama” on the way was when my right hand mirror decided to come loose and began spinning around…..but a tighten up with a spanner fixed that.

And so the birthday surprise worked great…….and then this morning it was time to get ready to head back home.   First off this morning Anthony got to show me off to Scooter Girl’s dad (which was very cool) and then around 9:00 am we were back on the road heading north.

Today was a bit cooler, but still a great sunny day for a ride. And there were lots of others out riding today too…..mostly sportbikes and cruisers who all nodded or waved which was cool too.  Traffic was minimal today, (as were the road works) and it was a great ride.  Anthony was a bit sore and tired after getting back but really enjoyed the trip.

So the overall impression of the experience was that I performed great, Anthony had a great time, and it was fun to surprise Scooter Girl for her birthday…..

And so now we move on to this weeks winner of Derbi’s Celebrity Pillion Passenger of the week is originally from England…born in Middlesex in 1970, she is the daughter of a English actress and Indian born film producer.

One of her most memorable moments was 1992’s Scent of A Woman (with Al Pacino) and also appeared in The Three Musketeers.

From 2007 she began her co-staring role as Fiona in the TV series “Burn Notice”
In her personal life……she has a daughter named Willow, and two other children to her second husband.

She is 38 and brunette….she is Gabrielle Anwar.
