the end of another week on the road….

Riding conditions this week have been mixed….Monday’s trips to the office and back were without problems other than the heat.  Didn’t see the usual riders on the road that we often see, but it was still fun.

Then on Tuesday after we left a bit early as a storm was approaching…..which we copped about 10 km out of town .  It lasted for about a while until we were able to get ahead of it….but thankfully Anthony’s Rjays Tornado wet weather gear did it’s job and he arrived home dry.

Riding to work Wednesday morning was hot, but still a good ride.  Then in the afternoon we left work for a blast home the back way via Townsend, South Bank Road, then back out to Yamba road.  It’s a route that we’ve done often, but it’s still a great way to have a fun trip home.

We are looking forward to more great rides next week….

so get out there, have a good one, stay safe and keep the rubber side down!

cheers,  Derbi.

She is Sandra Bullock.

Awesome ride

howdy all,

This morning our ride to work was fantastic…..who would have thought that a highway commute would be so much fun.  But today it was.  It was a combination of factors – perfect weather conditions (no wind, not too hot or cool), minimal traffic, and I was running great…..

Since the service on Saturday, Anthony has noticed the change in my performance…He’s happy, and so am I.

Whether its blasting down the highway, or cruising through the low speed sections on the road to Grafton, he was smiling and thats great.

This is similar to the view we had this morning…….

the road

On the way to work we often come across the same bikes….On Monday there is always “Small Road Bike Guy”….not sure what it is that you ride but we exchange a wave each monday and I’m sure both riders are smiling.

Today on the bridge coming out of town we got the nod from “Hayabusa Guy”…haven’t seen him for a few weeks but he was heading into town as we headed out.   Always get acknowledgment from him…and his bike looks awesome.

Also yesterday we had “Big Chromed & Shiny Red Harley Guy with Passenger”….they were heading out into the fine weather while we had endured the early morning rain…Hope you both had a great ride.

Additionallly, – go and checkout the Bush Motorcycle Blog – Jason’s new adventure motorcycle blog.  A great read!!

Gold Coast road trip

Howdy everyone,

Today Anthony and I headed north to ScooterHQ on Gold Coast to get me serviced, and get a few other things checked out…

It was a big day that began at 7:00 when we hit the road.  It was the first time since March that we’d been for a ride further north than the Grafton turnoff at Harwood.

Thankfully the rain had stopped and the road was reasonably dry.    We headed through Ballina and had a quick break outside Seaside Motorcycles, the Harley Davidson/BMW dealership….and today even at just after 8:00 there were bikes everywhere as they were offering testrides of the new 2010 Harley models.

And there were tonnes of bikes (and scooters) on the road today….everyone was out for a ride. Especially in the Ballina area as everyone was heading into town for a ride of the new Harley’s

This first picture probably won’t mean much to most people…..anyone who has travelled over the border on the Tugan Bypass would have seen this thing…

To most people, this is simply an ugly monument that indicates the border crossing between NSW and QLD.

To Anthony’s family its a source of amusement as it indicates the moment when one of the kids indicates their fear and hatred of QLD….we still aren’t sure why, but it happens…..and on the way back, this monument indicates that we are once again back in NSW, and once again all is right with the world.

The trip was good and by just after 8:30 QLD time we arrived…..and here’s a selection of the view once inside the store.

Here’s the World Superbike edition Aprilia SR50

Where ever we go, corners are always found….and by taking the back way around Ballina and heading out through Teven we had a great time….and North Teven road has some great corners, it’s just a shame that the road surface isn’t that great…but it was still good fun.

And here I am enjoying the view on the way home…..

It was a great day out, thanks again to Brendon and Tim for their impressive service and stories lots of laughs and excel
