Out and about

Hi everyone,

The weather has been a bit cooler out on the road this week, especially the Grafton trip which brought fog, cold, bugs and rain….

The trip home is getting darker each day, but its all good.

As an alternative to our normal highway commute, we should try the alternate route which goes from Yamba to Maclean, out over the bridge to the Bluff Point Ferry and across the river to Lawrence, then follow Lawrence Road to Alumi Creek and then Grafton.

That route looks something like this….

The road before arriving in Grafton, (the last part of the trip) looks something like this….

Wednesday we were out on the road again for the trip to Maclean, which also requires some travelling along Yamba Road, which Anthony knows like the back of his hand…..but it has some great turns on it.

You don’t want to do anything silly when these guys are around….!

Thursday and today we had our short trip to the tiny office by the water…….its just Anthony and the Pelicans, but despite that, we go home at lunch time, which is another chance for a ride, and any chance to get out on the road is a good one!!!

We hope you’ve had a great two-wheeled week, get out there, stay safe and have a good one…..

For this week’s winner of Derbi’s Celebrity Pillion Passenger of the week we are following a Star Wars theme…..(no it’s not Princess Leia in her gold bikini….) but recently we came across the website of a graphic artist named Feng Zhu.  He has created some Star Wars designs in the style of old war-time posters….(they are so much better than pics of Uncle Sam saying “We Want You For The US Army)……  anyway, back to the story…..

Imagine you are the Imperial Empire, and you are trying to recruit new troops……how do you do it?

How do you make young people want to sign up to become Imperial Troops….?

Perhaps you could try something like this…..

Or this…..

Or maybe this…..

seeya out there,

Busy week coming to an end…..Gold Coast trip coming up soon….

Hi all,

Its nearing the end of a busy week, and next week we are off to the Gold Coast to Scooter HQ to get a few things checked out.  Its been a while since we’ve made the QLD trip, but it will be good.

I’m going to be getting a new rear tyre, and get a few other things checked as well.

This week we have had a few wet trips to the offices……one was really wet when Anthony decided to not put on the wet weather gear and thought  he would make it without getting rained on……..and as a result he got soaked, But thats ok….for me anyway, but for him it meant waiting for his clothes to dry out and having to ride home in wet gear…..

So what’s been happening in the two-wheeled world this week…???    Icon Motorsports released their new 2010 gear, the Gold Coast version of the  “Australian Motorcycle Expo” is on next weekend and we will be there to check out the newest things on two wheels.

Anthony will be interested in lots of the stuff there, but as mentioned in the previous post, he’s looking forward to checking out the new Suzuki Gladius and is hoping the red one will be there……yep, this coming from the guy obsessed with black bikes…..and suddenly he’s loving the “red one!!!”….having said that, he also loves black, and also has this thing about black and red together………whether its bikes, car interiors, or other things that bring a smile to his face……..(not sure what he means by that but he helped me type this so I’m sure he knows what he’s talking about…)

So we hope that you have a great week, and get out there and enjoy the outdoors, enjoy the road, enjoy the rides and make the most of your two-wheeled experience.

have a good one,

2010 is here…..

Hi All,

Hope you had a great NYE and are enjoying your 2010.  Not a lot has been happening this week out on the road, but we’ve had a chance to get out a few times.  Trips to the supermarket have often been required so Anthony has had a chance to use me as the preferred transport solution.   We also had a great ride during the week, and took the same route that we’ve often used, heading out along Yamba Road and then turning onto Middle Road, then headed back to onto Yamba Road, off to Maclean, then headed out via Townsend and back to Palmers Island for the ride back home.

It was a great fun ride and we are look forward to getting out again soon.  Anthony is back to work tomorrow so that means getting out each day, which is cool.

So what has everyone else been up too?  I hope that you are enjoying the rides, the roads, and the chance to get out there and enjoy all that two-wheels has to offer.  Keep the rubber side down and enjoy it all.

This week’s winner of Derbi’s Celebrity Pillion Passenger of the Week was born in Monterrey, Mexico.  She is a TV personality and is best known for her work with Miami Ink and currently LA Ink.  Yep, she’s a tattoo artist, and we think she is worthy of the pillion spot this week because tattoos are cool!!!   Ok so she tattoos people for a living and is currently dating Motley Crue bass player Nikki Sixx.   She has released a book compiling her artworks and tattoos and this book traces her career as an artist, from her early childhood to her recent work, along with examples of what inspires her, information about the show and her shop, her sketches, and personal tattoos.

She was born in 1982 and given the name Katherine Von Drachenberg, but to the world she is known as the one and only Kat Von D.
